Saturday

DAY 15!

There was a time when my baby boy was as big as my Cat Arabella! Happy Birthday, Monkey.

Friday

DAY 14

This is Phoenix.
First thing I saw this morning...opened my eyes to see THIS glaring at me. (He was making muffins, it wasn't as ominous as it looks)  The Sketch was drawn, while sitting in a sun spot today, on the couch with a cat...or two.

Thursday

Day 13

We have a winner from yesterday's teeny tiny print give away: Took Gallagher (Art O Mat Artist Extraordinaire) takes home the "Kitty Belly Book Mark"! ( http://fraughtwmeaning.blogspot.com/ )

Here is today's CAT.
Graphite sketch.

Day Twelve

Kitty Belly

“I really am a cat transformed into a woman.” – Brigitte Bardot

The first person to comment on this post will be sent this nifty "Kitty Belly Bookmark".

DAY 11! 01/11/11

Seeing all those ones just makes me think of Binary codes, patterns of two...the Binars.

So, here is a feline face off.
This actually is the middle spread for the Sketch book Project I am working on.
I attached paper, to make these two pages fold outward to reveal the images inside the spread.
And since you might be wondering, I'd best include a picture of what is below. The black cat image opens outward to reveal the angel/cat angels below.

Monday

DAY TEN!

Cat  & Cordouroy...enjoying a spot of sunshine this afternoon.
And here is an Orange Marmalade Cat to start the week:

Sunday

Day 9

This is a quick painting of Pearl.
She was my purebred Ragdoll and mother to most of my cats.
She had the most amazing blue eyes.

Artfully yours,
Imelda

Tuesday

Day 4 Katara

Today I introduce Katara; one of my youngest Cats. Her coloring is actually pretty rare: a true brown cat: Chocolate brown to be exact.

Katara's mother was a purebred Ragdoll. Her father we don't discuss...

While working on my sketchbook, she came up to me and insisted that it was time for some lovin'. She kept bumping her head against the sketchbook , while purring madly and making sly attempts to climb into my  lap.

So, if you look closely, you will see a sketch of a cat in the notebook next to the determined Katara posing.
Lap was successfully landed after this.

Imelda

Monday

Day 3

Mrrrrrow! Dressing up Cats is one of my favorite things...morph them into Cat people: Furry Lady Felines.

Sunday

Day 2 January 2nd 2011

This is a drawing I just completed from the SKETCHBOOK PROJECT I am participating in along with 28834 other Artists around the globe! http://www.arthousecoop.com/projects/sketchbookproject

The theme I chose for my sketchbook, is "If You Were Here" and it is basically filled so far with sketches of scenes from my life working with flowers, living with animals and doodling. The deadline is FAST approaching: post mark has to be 1/15  and I have not filled the book yet! So, here I combine two challenges: the "Cat a day" & another page in the sketch book. Now, off I go to work, to earn some bread and art supply $.
Til tomorrow.

Imelda

2011 A Cat A Day

Hello and welcome to my 2011 Adventure.
I am going to create  A CAT A DAY!

I decided to bring in  the New Year with this challenge because I believe we need to draw everyday. The demands of our every day life & work can steal away our energy and time, and suddenly days-weeks-months can slip by, and we have not done the very thing we enjoy: CREATE . This challenge will give me the reason, to get myself creating everyday! Saying it outloud, so to speak.
I believe we should draw what makes us happy: what we love. For me, it's CATS!
In the upcoming days I will use paint, pencil, ink, clay, food, sand, photographs, assemblage, collage, paper, fabric, yarn, glue, wood, feathers, leather...and anything else that catches my fancy to make some felines appear.

I look forward to hearing your comments, requests or suggestions. I will definitely appreciate your words of support and the year progresses!
So, my friends, here we go. A Cat A Day. Number one:

Imelda
