A cat on your lap, or one sprawled across the drawing board, or tiptoeing across the palette with a shake of the paw, these are the daily pleasures. Head bumps, soft purrs, nuzzles, kneads... The Musings and Melancholies of an Artist and her cat herd.

Making ipsy pipsy teeny weeny diaries/booklets to go inside of the mind of the girl boxes.
Almost done...next is the artist bio, the teeny tiny pen and then the cello wrapping.
THEN packaging to mail!

The Flip Side.
Yes, foldable boxes have the "other side". I could let it go untouched, or I could add a little something, something, for when the collector opens it.
I chose the latter, and so, when it is opened they will see purple and my contact info. I enjoy that where ever in the world these boxes end up, the buyer can drop me a note.
NOW, I get to make what goes IN these little boxes..... hehehe

Experimenting with a new paint, that can be applied to glass/metal/ceramics.
A bit tricky to work with: so thin. Must apply in layers and difficult to reapply/blend.
BUT looks nifty when done.
Items bake in the oven, then are permanent.
Finch S&P are part of a Bday present for the Finch Mum.
(a bit belated now, hm)

The photo above shows the unfolded box with the design painted on it. That one is my master copy. I shall now put THAT design on these 25 white, smooth, unfolded, unpainted boxes.
On your mark, get set....

Today I kept working on the clay pots, and then, brought out the die cut forms for the next ART O MAT series. This is a new one, so I am excited to get them started.
Tomorrow you will see the first painted ones.

Busy day: worked at the bread and butter job, til early afternoon, then drove to Pasadena to the opening Artist Reception for the HEARTS & FLOWERS exhibit at the Folk Tree Gallery.
Tonight, here is how far I have worked on the Clay Pot.
And here is a panoramic view of the Gallery:

Way over there is my drawing table, with clay pots lined up to be painted. But this little stow away in the box was photo worthy. Here is a sample of a painted cat pot.

Working on some Art Cards. It has been awhile. These will go into my Etsy shop.
Art Cards, by the way, are small works the size of traditional collectible cards; like base ball cards. Two and a half inches by three and a half inches.
One of my favorite subjects: cats. Meanwhile wooden blocks are laid out, waiting for the next layer of detail. Also rejuvenated my paints today with extender. Drying time on Acrylics is a blessing and a hindrance....

One of the things that amuses me, is the constant shadowing of my dog. It led to putting a little doggie bed on the floor next to the drawing table.
She will leap up and follow me to get a refill on water/tea/coffee or to go down the hall to check the computer or to cross the room to get something from a drawer! Constant shadow puppet.
