Friday

MARCH 8th

Drawing Table be Framed.

A link past to a previous career in Picture Framing. Comes in mighty handy when I have to frame up a piece or two.

Came across a mens hanky, I painted for my Dad ages ago. I needed a soft cloth to wipe a piece of STATIC plexiglass and out of nowhere, there it was: Thanks, Poppi.

Thursday

March 7

Thursday:
I should have known, with a morning like this....something was different about today.

Took care of business, then went to the San Pedro Art Walk, held the FIRST THURSDAY of every month. Local Artists open their studios to the public and musicians are in the streets, and Gourmet Food Trucks present their goodies.

At  Lazy Dog Gallery,  We met the owner and Artist, who poured wine, answered questions and made us feel at home. Here is the artwork of his featured Artist this month.

We met JJ, a gracious Artist who showed us his newly acquired studio space. His large abstract painting were rich in texture and color. His generous spirit and attitude about Art and Artists was a pleasure to discover.

We agreed on Cats, Cheese and Art~

Drawing table waits...inspiration gathering tonight.

Wednesday

March 6th

Dear County Water Truck that has been parked in front of my house for the past week, preventing us from parking or putting our trash cans out......I despise you.

Tuesday

March 5

Lonely drawing table tonight.

I got hit with a nasty stomach virus...no drawing tonight.

My new bff porcelana

Monday

Saturday

March 2

I filled out this little garden fairy. Put some meat on her bones...She may become a study for something larger.

Friday

March 1st

The smell of Spring is in the air, and with it comes the arrival of fiesty garden fairies and sprites.

Pencil Sketch:

Thursday

Feb 28th

Tonight I added color to the Ruffle Cat. The background is a metallic Bronze.
I will continue working it, since this still feel preliminary.

Next week, I will venture back into my Art O Mat series.

Wednesday

February 27th

In honor of Tonks and other fluffy Rag dolls with their ruffly collars.

Pencil Sketchin'

Tuesday

February 26th

Todays post is an ACEO: Art Cards Editions and Originals.

The size of an ACEO is two and a half inches by three and a half inches.
ACEO's are tiny works of art, that can be collected like old fashioned Baseball Cards.
It is a way to sample and own a variety of Artists work, and collect a variety of styles.
I keep my ACEO's in notebooks, using collector card *base ball card* archival sleeves.

I'll show you next time. I have some amazing artists work!

Here is an Acrylic Painting on Watercolor paper, ACEO size.

Remember, last time I had posted the pencil sketch?

Not quite done yet....
May layer some tinted varnish over... or?

Saturday

February 23rd

Happy Saturday. Revisited the Folk Tree Gallery today with L. Happy to see that I sold a couple items. The show ends next weekend, so this was a final chance to see the artwork on display and for sale.
Lots to see and do in Pasadena. Special time was had at Bar Celona; a Tapas Bar on Colorado Bl.
Beautiful display of food.
Drawing time now

Friday

February 22

From the Drawing Board to the Bread Board.

Color, painting, shaping, rolling, building....all the creative elements of sculpture, clay, color blending and placement, with a touch of whimsy, found in tonight's edible project.

 A Pool Table!

I see future shaping in this FONDANT recipe.
The possibilities.....

Thursday

February 21st

You leave the room for ONE minute....marauding varmints.

Ok, beside the obvious flying fur and hogging any available flat work surface, this is another drawback to having an animal friendly household. Purring up against a random object, can cause tipping!
Note to self: TIGHTEN the lids on containers, even if only stepping away.

Wednesday

February 20th

After a chilly night, some glorious sunshine fills my window.

I am not the only one who enjoys the warmth of the sun.

Tuesday

February 19th

Listening to KJZZ. Dinah Washington; What a difference a day makes!

Here is a shot from last nights black out. Candle light and Crazy 8's with #1. Even got the Scrabble board out.

Tonight working on a small cat and an Island Girl.

AND it is raining outside, so the room is chilly and the sound of the rain outside is peaceful. Time to hibernate.

Monday

February 18th

ACEO making mood.
Playing with another cat idea.
Mid way through painting tonight, the lights/radio went off! Black out!
You don't realize how dark it is at night, til every light in the house goes out.

Sunday

February 17th

Playing around with markers.
But eventually led back into paint.
My handy old vintage sharpener.

Phanta checking out the marker set. She is becoming quite the studio cat. Wanting to hang around when I am in there...and when I am not.
Chair stealer...
Insists that she is far more interesting than the color markers.

Beginning layers on a little Ginger Cat.

Voila!
